Sonitrol team increases school security Channel 14 News
You may have seen some of our Sonitrol team on the news last week. Channel 14 News covered a story on Gibson Southern High School’s latest increase in security measures. Be prepared for Carbon Monoxide leaks!
Last night, our Central Station operator, DJ, received a Carbon Monoxide alarm from a residence we secure with security and fire detection. He dispatched the fire department, who responded and determined there was a Carbon Monoxide leak in the basement. The fire department contacted the gas company to meet them so that the leak could be stopped. Great job to DJ and our local fire department! All-star operators!
You might remember these all-star Central Station operators from recent Sonitrol news. Chaz Fields dispatched on an alarm we monitor that resulted in an apprehension after suspects tried to rob a pharmacy. All merchandise was recovered! Maye Kincaide dispatched after receiving a video alarm of trespassers on a school roof. Not only are these operators on top of their monitoring game, but they were also both recognized this week for PERFECT attendance for the 4th quarter in Central Station. Way to go, Chaz and Maye! Our team is dependable and ALWAYS ON THE JOB.
Suspect Apprehended!
Shortly after midnight, our Central Station operator, Chaz, received an audio alarm and picked up sounds against the door of a pharmacy we monitor. He immediately dispatched police as he recognized the sounds of a break-in attempt. He accessed the video cameras and alerted responding officers that two suspects were inside the store, one in a hoodie. While one suspect evaded police, the other was apprehended, and all the merchandise was recovered by police, leaving only a damaged door.

After receiving the initial thermal alarm, they were then able to pull up live video from the customer’s DVR-camera system for more real-time footage.
