Police Chief, Phil Smith, and Special Projects Coordinator, Officer Taylor Merriss, stopped by this morning to say thank you for Sonitrol’s continued support of local law enforcement and let us know we’ve been nominated for the Community Award to be presented at the annual Policeman’s Ball in September. We are so excited for the nomination. Thank you, Evansville Police Department, and a special shout-out to Police Chief Smith and Officer Merriss!

Theft prevented with Sonitrol!
Another satisfied customer reached out to us this week after our Central Station team responded to an alarm, preventing a theft. Sonitrol operator, Liz, received a video alarm just after midnight. When she saw the individuals in the lot attempting to steal old A/C units, she alerted the customer and dispatched EPD. This was a recently installed camera system sold by Sherri to protect the customer’s outdoor inventory. In the attached picture on the bottom left, one of the individuals can be seen sneaking around. While there was no apprehension made, the customer was pleased with the quick response, which prevented a theft. Great job, Liz and EPD! Two apprehensions!
Two apprehensions! Last night, Sonitrol’s Central Station operator, DJ, received a motion alarm at a local high school we protect. DJ verified a break-in and dispatched law enforcement. Evansville Police Department found two suspects on site who had been in the building. Great job, DJ and EPD! Sonitrol plus police make your school, office, or business secure!
Fire monitoring prevents loss of life and property!
Over the weekend, Sonitrol’s Central Station operator, DJ, received a fire alarm at an apartment complex we protect and monitor. DJ dispatched the fire department, who responded at once. Evansville Fire Department found a garbage bag smoldering due to a lit cigarette in the hallway of the building. They put it out before it grew and ventilated the apartment building. This could have been a MAJOR disaster-from loss of life or injury to property damage- had the fire system not been monitored by our 24-hour Central Station. Not only do we install commercial fire systems for housing, warehouses, medical offices, commercial businesses, and more, we monitor them, providing emergency response around the clock. Great job, DJ! Excellent work, Evansville Fire Department!

Sonitrol team increases school security Channel 14 News
You may have seen some of our Sonitrol team on the news last week. Channel 14 News covered a story on Gibson Southern High School’s latest increase in security measures. Ben and Josh from Sonitrol can be seen in the video installing new door prop monitors to our commercial security system in place at the school. Door prop notifications allow us to know if someone has propped a door open so we can alert the staff during school hours to exact locations or potential threats. If you want to enhance your school security system as well, call us at (800)444-1191 for a free consultation.

Be prepared for Carbon Monoxide leaks!
Last night, our Central Station operator, DJ, received a Carbon Monoxide alarm from a residence we secure with security and fire detection. He dispatched the fire department, who responded and determined there was a Carbon Monoxide leak in the basement. The fire department contacted the gas company to meet them so that the leak could be stopped. Great job to DJ and our local fire department! Carbon Monoxide is odorless and can only be detected with the proper device. If you haven’t added monitored Carbon Monoxide detection to your commercial or residential property, contact Sonitrol at (800)444-1191.
