Intruder apprehended!

We want to say thank you to Owensboro Police Department and our Central Station operator, Chaz, for their team work on another apprehension. Our commitment to protecting the community began in 1969, when local dentist, Dr. William Standring, “Doc”, opened Sonitrol of Evansville. Doc’s cousin, the inventor Bob Baxter, had teamed up with a police officer in Anderson, Indiana just five years earlier and launched Sonitrol, the first of its kind verified alarm company that used audio technology to catch intruders. And while the students are away, will the burglars play? Here are a few quick tips to secure your school and prevent a break-in:

  • Use outdoor lights. Make sure your school’s outdoor walkways, entrances, and exits are clearly lit. Motion detector lights are excellent deterrents for potential vandals.
  • Store valuable equipment, such as computers, tablets, and science lab items in interior rooms and away from windows, out of sight from prying eyes.
